On April 7 2007 at 21.35 hours my nephew, Sam, died in his mummy's arms. Sam had osteogenesis
imperfecta type 2 and his very brave mummy and daddy decided to take him off the ventilator at
around seven that evening. My lovely nephew was held, kissed, cuddled and bathed by his mummy and
daddy.
I'm so devastated for my sister, but when I think of Sam my heart breaks, I wanted so much to
do all the things an aunty does and hold him close but now Sam's funeral is on Thursday and I
don't want it, I want him to be alive.
Sam has three sisters, Kristina, Anya and Isabella, loads of cousins, Ben, Beth, Nate, Kiera and
Jana and I know they would love Sam.
I feel like Maria's pregnancy was a whirlwind, I feel so heartbroken for Maria and Ian, Sam
was so beautiful and after three lovely daughters, the son they dearly wanted.

Hi Sam,
I hope you are being a good fella, for some reason I don't see you as a little baby anymore. I feel you have healed and grown, I'm glad. In a slow way we are healing here too, we still miss you and want you and feel a gap where you should be but we are thankful for knowing you at all. Remember I love and have a lovely time, pop in an see Anya, it's her birthday next week.

hi sam today and yesterday I was sitting in the garden while your big sisters were out playing and a white butterfly visited our flowers nasturnuims and it kept disappearing over the fence but kept coming back, it was beautiful to watch and I felt at peace for a minute like the pain of losing you stopped for a very short time. I miss you soooo much and love you always, anya always says she carries you in her heart which is very sweet!!!

hi my little man missing you as much as ever, been busy in the garden when it has not been raining, mummy has made a special place for you in our garden, it has a rockery with a blue flowered climbing plant in the middle of it, I am going to get a bench and your big sis wants to make a blue butterfly mosaic on the wall in your memory, I am going to work really hard to make it in2 a place where we can sit peacefully and think of you lots of love mummy daddy krissy anya and isabella XXX
